CLE also has gas control and vacuum  throttle valves for either upstream or  downstream  partial pressure control.

Ordinary valves will not work in vacuum  [either due to high  conductance, or leakage].  Valve  controllers are available for many of these automatic valves [see Vacuum Instrumentation].
